The Mens cutting course with Hair Project is brought to you by some of the best men's hairdressing educators around.

This course is designed to strengthen your technique in Men's Hairdressing from basic section patterns through to various
up to date texturising cutting methods including the scissor over comb technique.

Session styling and editorial

Are you a make-up artist looking to add hairdressing to your services? This course will provide you with the basic fundamentals
of what you will need to become a session stylist. A five day programme concentrating on perfecting finished styles and techniques
from vintage to runway. Each day you shall learn four styles taught by our session styling team, academy manager Jaime Douglas
and co-founder of the the Hair Project Andrew Curtis. On completion of the course you will have the opportunity to shoot a model
capturing your new skills in an image for your portfolio.

All levels

Stylist kit worth £200 included in course fee.


From pin curls to victory rolls this course will add an arsenal of pre and post wartime hairdressing looks to your weaponry. Using
modern technology to achieve those age old classics that women sat in the salon all day to achieve! A two day course for those
who have some experience in hair or have previously taken another course at the Hair Project.

Advanced beginners/Intermediate

Vintage kit provided for use at the academy, also available to purchase at discounted student rate.


Bespoke bridal hair courses running during the evenings in addition to our daytime classes can be tailored to your needs. Whatever
your interested in learning we can build a programme around your requirements. Be it Asian bridal, alternative, or classics looks
you'd like to master this course will teach you the necessary skills to suit your target market. Courses run weekly thorough out the
year with a maximum class size of six.

Teaching Assessing And Quality Assurance

These qualifications are for people working in or looking to work in assessment and internal quality assurance. These qualifications
are open to people carrying out assessments and quality assurance in most learning environments including FE, Adult Continuing
Learning, Employers and the Third Sector. They are designed for anyone assessing and carrying out quality assurance in all occupational
sectors, accredited learning, non-accredited learning (e.g. where performance is being assessed but the learner is not undertaking a
qualification), qualifications on the National Qualification Framework (NQF) and qualifications on the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF).

Qualification level and definition
Level 3 Provides routes for learners to understand assessment and if required, qualify as an assessor. Learners who wish to achieve these
units could be assessing competence or non-competence based learning, knowledge or skills. The units and qualifications that meet the
requirements of candidates will be assessed on induction. Level 4 Provides routes for learners to understand internal quality assurance in
learning and if required to qualify as an internal quality assurer (IQA). Learners could be quality assuring competence or non-competence
based learning, knowledge or skills.

Progression routes
The knowledge only units (6317-30 at Level 3 and 6317-40 at Level 4) are for anyone interested in knowing more about these areas of work.
Learners do not have to be practitioners to achieve these units. However they can progress on to the competence based units when their
role allows. There are also opportunities for progression into other qualifications as units from the 6317 qualifications appear in the following:
6302 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

it is becoming vital to be cross trained in both professional make-up and hair disciplines, and a successful future awaits
those who choose to train in both skill sets. The ultimate beginners make-up and hair education programme, this
professionally designed 10- day intensive course will provide you with a solid platform from which to develop and grow
in both disciplines.

With a week spent on the make-up focus, followed by a week on hair styling, for both disciplines you will address influential style decades
and inspirations, and practice a range of core technical and creative techniques until you are precision perfect. There will also be an

The Hair Project offers part-time courses for Hairdressing. Those who are looking for a change in their career or want to re-train
to return to work can train at the Hair Project to become a qualified hairdresser to NVQ Level 2 in 32 Weeks on our part-time course.

When you complete the course successfully you will be awarded with an industry recognised City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Diploma in
Hairdressing. There are no requirements for any previous hairdressing experience for this course.

DURATION: 32 Week courses run termly.

  • Spring 2015 term begins early April and runs umntil December 2015.
  • Autumn 2015 term runs from early Sep until April 2016.
  • Winter 2016 term begins Early Jan until Aug 2016.
  • 12 week intense courses also run termly over 2 and a half days per week. (flexible times to suit, please call for options)

    LOCATION: Hoxton, London.

    COSTS: The course fee for the City & Guilds NVQ 2 Diploma in Hairdressing is £5500.00 The course fee includes all learning resources
    and a hairdressing pack which consists of a hairdressing training block, hairdressing scissors, brushes, combs, pins, and rollers.
